Here's How Isolated Blue Light Destroys Your Body
Here's what few people consider about artificial light
I have stood on my soapbox plenty of times and told you about the damaging impact of artificial light on human health due to its light spectrum which is primarily focused on blue light wavelengths in isolation, particularly with no red and infrared as the balancing force that nature uses in the sun’s light spectrum.
Yet, I haven’t gone into the root cause mechanism involved.
This is the mechanism that allows isolated blue light in society to wreak havoc.
I must credit Dr. Jack Kruse for laying out this mechanism so clearly for people such as myself to simplify and spread to the world.
We begin with a process known as ferroptosis.
This is the process that causes blue light toxicity in human beings.
It’s a form of regulated cell death that is distinct from apoptosis, necrosis, and other forms of cell death. It is characterized by the iron-dependent accumulation of lipid peroxides to lethal levels. This process was first described in 2012 and has since been recognized as an important mechanism in various physiological and pathological contexts, including cancer, neurodegenerative diseases, and ischemia-reperfusion injury.
In simple terms, it’s a type of cell death that happens when iron in the cell causes damage to fats in the cell's membranes.
This process is behind most of the microvasculature changes that occur and is a quantum level effect through an iron atom interaction with isolated blue light from artificial sources.
“Ferro-” referring to iron and “-ptosis” referring to “fall” or “downfall,” which is in reference to cell death in this context.
What are the downstream consequences of isolated blue light enabling this process?
Isolated blue light has a destructive impact on every single non-visual photoreceptor in the body which are proteins that sense specific light wavelengths in our environment.
Examples of opsins include neuropsin (detects UV-A light), rhodopsin (detects green wavelengths), so forth.
I would like to focus on one opsin in particular, melanopsin which is the most prominent non-visual photoreceptor in the human body. It’s a chromophore which detects blue light wavelengths from 435 nm to 480 nm, and is found EVERYWHERE. The skin, eyes, brain, subcutaneous fat, blood vessels, so forth.
We first discovered it in the early 2000’s.
Now what’s important to this discussion is the fact that every opsin in the human body, including melanopsin, is inextricably tied to the Vitamin A cycle, specifically called retinol.
This bond isn’t strong though, it’s actually a loose covalent bond, which means that high energy visible light wavelengths like blue light found in isolation are easily able to destroy the bond.
When isolated blue light hits melanopsin, retinol gets liberated from its bond.
What’s problematic about this, you ask?
Freed retinol is highly toxic, and the body must instantly reabsorb and recycle it to prevent systemic damage.
What does freed Vitamin A do?
It destroys non-visual photoreceptors.
This is the mechanism which explains the dangers of isolated blue light.
Now this also brings up to an important differentiation between isolated blue light from artificial sources and natural blue light found in the sun’s full light spectrum. They are not the same because the context in which blue light is found is entirely different.
Mother Nature has already figure this problem out.
She offsets the blue light exposure with the full light spectrum via a biochemical process in the eye which is crucial in the context of ferroptosis called Bazan’s Loop, involving both the long and short loop. This is the process that is responsible for the immediate recycling of freed Vitamin A.
But understand that a lifestyle of exposure to isolated blue light all day and night decimates this process. It doesn’t allow Bazan’s Loop to work properly which results in high levels of free Vitamin A, causing obscene damage.
Here’s what’s interesting about non-visual photoreceptors:
They are regenerated by the full light spectrum, more specifically red and infrared light. They are also regenerated from dopamine and melatonin, which play a central role in circadian biology.
As you can see below, the sun’s light at all times (especially midday UV light) stimulates the production of aromatic amino acids like phenylalanine, tryptophan, nd histidine.
What do you notice about phenylalanine?
It’s the first domino to create DOPA which creates dopamine.
What do you notice about tryptophan?
It’s the first domino to create serotonin which then translates into melatonin production.
It’s also important to consider the two different forms of melatonin that the body produces via the light and dark cycle.
One of them being the sub-cellular form of melatonin which is produced by the mitochondria from near-infrared that comes from the sun’s light and greenery.
The second form of melatonin is known as the circulatory form which is produced from the pineal gland in response to darkness after sunset.
Isolated blue light doesn’t only destroy the opsins in your body, especially within the eyes and skin, but it also destroys the mitochondria and leptin melanocortin pathway at large.
The problem starts in the retina first and then gets generalized throughout the brain via the leptin melanocortin pathway. Whatever part of the brain is damaged from this general impact results in the specific disease you manifest.
What’s particularly scary about this situation is that the leptin melanocortin pathway has a direct path in the brain, without any synapses which act like breaks for light information, towards two different places:
The Suprachaismatic Nucleus (SCN): This is the master circadian body clock in the brain that controls all other peripheral clocks linked to every organ and cell in the body. This is how isolated artificial light, as a zeitgeber, causes chronic circadian dysfunction
The Habenula Nucleus: More specifically in the hypothalamus and thalamus which is the relay center for the frontal lobes, the parts of the brain that differentiates us as human beings from every other animal in nature. The reward tracts are located in this area. This is the origin of mental illness, depression, addictive behavior, obesity.. which should help you understand the true impact of isolated blue light from artificial sources.
People have no idea that these dysfunctional manifestations are directly linked to artificial light destroying the opsins, specifically in the eyes, which then create a systemic effect in the brain.
When this disruption occurs chronically, you constantly need to expose yourself to isolated blue light to feel NORMAL and raise your dopamine levels. This is fundamentally why artificially blue lit technology is addictive.
It’s not a surprise when you think about it.
When you sit in front of a TV or use technology for long periods of time, especially after sunset, you get anxious, depressed, irritable, which are prime examples of the consequences involved. You can feel it relatively quickly.
Red light is Mother Nature’s balancing antidote to blue light exposure.
It doesn’t take much digging to understand that the Department of Defense, Big Tech, Big Pharma, and other entities understand this work. They’ve literally used it to lower the dopamine of the population which then allows them to gain more power.
This isn’t being conspiratorial for its own sake.
Big Tech owns the blue light patents.
There’s a reason why no technology made by these companies displays a different type of light other than isolated blue light.
Big Pharma understands the leptin melanocortin pathway and various other aspects of biology which has spawned the creation of GLP-1s for profit.
The Department of Defense and government understands the power of psychological manipulation via programs like MK ULTRA.
Something to chew on and evaluate when you consider that you are likely addicted to artificially blue lit technology. Get those red filters on all of your tech. It’s the single biggest favor you could do for yourself.
Much love,

Most of our modern diseases, like obesity begin in the eye!
Jack Kruse has inspired me to write much of our work as well.
Thank you for teasing out how retinol gets liberated - can be a confusing process for many.
