What if I told you that the human body emits light?

I’m here to tell you that’s the case.

When people say human beings are ‘beings of light,’ they’re scientifically correct.

Biophotons are light particles that are produced by, and within, biological organisms. They are a type of bioluminescence, but instead of primarily being used to produce visible light, as in the case of fireflies, biophotons are typically used for communication within and between cells. They play a role in many biological processes, and studying them can provide insights into cellular function and health.

Biophotons are composed of ultraweak photon emissions, typically in the ultraviolet and visible light spectrum.

In other words, our cells and tissues communicate via UV/visible light.

Biophotons were first discovered and popularized by Russian scientist Alexander Gurwitsch in the 1920s. He coined the term "mitogenetic radiation" to describe these ultraweak photon emissions.

Since then, the study of biophotons has e…
