Having The Best Eyesight On The Block
Maximizing your eye health through the correct use of light
The picture shown above is an eye exam I took on 10/08/2022. I can’t specifically recall the last time I went to get an eye exam before this test last year.
According to this test, I have near perfect eyes.
As a result, my eyesight is superb.
Out of everybody I know, I:
sunbathe the most
don’t wear sunglasses
don’t use sunscreen
have a fantastic tan
Yet outperform them with my eyesight.
They do all the “right” things according to conventional authority, but have myopia and other ocular related problems.
Do you think that’s a coincidence?
Of course not.
Your eye health doesn’t exist in isolation in relation to the rest of the body. Blood sugar, iron levels, overall metabolic health, and most importantly, LIFESTYLE makes all the difference.
One of the most powerful levers for ocular health is LIGHT.
Maximizing natural sunlight while giving it the respect it deserves so you don’t burn AND minimizing/blocking toxic artificial blue light, especially after sunset.
That is, by far, the most important intervention you can implement into your routine to protect and further improve your eyesight.
Use my other articles about light as your framework because I get very practical with it so you can gain the most benefit.
I don’t do anything special for my eyes.
No “biohacks” involved.
Just eating the right foods, being outside, looking out into far distances, avoiding artificial light, not wearing sunglasses, no contacts, so forth.
We have a limited view of how the eyes work, mainly due to the influence of allopathic medicine and their reductionist approach to health.
I’ll be the first to tell you that messing with your optics is the greatest way to fuck up your health.
Lasik Surgery & Depression
One stark example of messing around with your optics is Lasik surgery.
When an ophthalmologist performs Lasik surgery on somebody’s eye, they unknowingly destroy neuropsin which is a special opsin found in your cornea and skin that is a UV-A light detector.
They can’t see neuropsin on your cornea, hence they don’t understand what they’re truly doing to the optics of that individual.
What happens when you destroy neuropsin?
You disrupt a pathway known as the leptin melanocortin pathway which disrupts the other photoreceptors in your eye known as melanopsin.
Melanopsin goes to the nucleus in the brain stem known as habenular nuclei. This entire pathway that I described is loaded with proopiomelanocortin (POMC) which is an important protein that is cleaved to smaller pieces known as peptides.
All of this is directly related to the creation and management of important neurotransmitters (dopamine, epinephrine, acetylcholine, serotonin, etc.) and even melatonin.
Long story short, if you zap this signaling with a laser through Lasik surgery, you disrupt the optical signal which has incredible implications on a biological level.
Do you know what else does the same thing?
Sunglasses, contact lenses and sunscreen.
This is why they’re terrible for your health and why I’m so against their use.
On a biological level, you need light into the eye without the use of sun “protection” to maintain a functional system. This isn’t about optimal health here. It’s Level 1 shit that next to nobody knows about.
How To Use Light Correctly To Improve Eyesight
I’m a firm believer you can improve your eyesight because I’ve had people DM me using these strategies who have experienced substantial improvement in their eyesight.
Follow this one rule of thumb:
BRIGHTER DAYS (from sunlight beginning at sunrise)
DARKER NIGHTS POST SUNSET (use fire light such as candles, bonfires, fireplaces + red light/incandescent bulbs)
If you have eyesight issues, you should be viewing sunrise and sunset religiously because, at this time, there is an incredible concentration of red light wavelengths which regenerate your mitochondria within the eye.
Couple this with ample amounts of daily sunbathing during the 10 AM - 3 PM window without sunglasses, contacts, sunscreen and you have a motherfucker of an approach.
Blue light toxicity is the root cause of many eyesight maladies, so you must download f.lux on all computers and get 1 tap zap on your phone to protect yourself from artificial blue light. This applies during the day as well. Any technology use must have some software to block its blue light.
As per those who have terrible vision, read my post below.
How many of you knew this before reading this article?
This is the power of self-education.
Much love,
