You likely hear all sorts of recommendations as to how much water you should drink every single day. Many of them are decent. Others are awful.
My problem with nearly every single one is this..
People are focused on the number of ounces to achieve, often at the expense of the quality and other crucial details. We’ll cover that soon here.
So, how much do I personally recommend?
Half your body weight in ounces is the minimum per day.
If you weigh 180 pounds, 90 ounces is the objective to hit.
If you weigh 140 pounds, 70 ounces is your goal.
On Water Quality
It’s not enough to drink any given water because not all water is created equal.
I’ve talked about this a lot in the past, but the quality of your water is determined by:
Where it comes from
How it’s made
What it’s stored in
Whether or not it’s allowed to move freely
What’s inside of it
Where it comes from
The most elite form of water is spring water which goes through the natural hydrologic cycle to eventually end up inside of your body.
Tap and conventional, dead plastic bottled water do not go through this cycle.
Instead, they’re treated with various techniques which destroy the water and often contaminated with toxic chemicals/substances.
How it’s made
Spring water is made in a specific way to where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. It evaporates, goes through lava rock, goes through soil, travels freely in a spiral like motion, becomes structured through countless vortices, so forth.
Mother Nature knows how to make the best water.
Humanity, on the other hand, have bastardized it for the sake of productivity and money.
What it’s stored in
Water is known as the universal solvent, meaning it takes on the structure of whatever contains it and absorbs any material which it comes into contact with.
This is what I often mean when I say ‘living water.’
It has the ability to respond like nearly everything else in this Universe.
It’s sensitive to light, frequency, temperature, pressure, so on.
Knowing this, we must store our water in glass or something that won’t leach toxic substances into it. Plastic is to be avoided at all costs for this reason.
Whether or not it’s allowed to move freely
As I mentioned, water natural wants to move freely, but not in the way humanity has forced it to move (in a straight line).
Nowhere in nature will you find water moving in a straight line.
It always moves side to side in a rhythmic way. It ebbs, flows, and rotates.
What’s inside of it
Natural spring water contains the full breadth of necessary minerals and trace elements for human health, while tap water contains all sorts of toxins (fluoride, heavy metals, so forth).
Store bought plastic bottled water isn’t any better because it’s ladened with micro-plastics and synthetic minerals in the wrong proportions.
On Superior Hydration
Per ounce, spring water is more hydrating than any other type of water, especially the inferior kinds.
Why is this the case?
Because it’s structured and able to provide our cells with hydration on the intracellular level (meaning inside the cell).
As we evolved, spring water was the only available form of hydration. You didn’t have disgusting tap water. There was not a plastic bottled water in sight. We consumed Mother Nature’s most prized creation straight from the best source - unpolluted springs.
To add more support to this framework, Dr. Gerald Pollack studied the structure of spring water (he called it EZ water) and determined that nature’s way of creating it makes it the best hydrating option available.
Viktor Schauberger was the water wizard and dedicated his life to understanding the nature of spring water and its potential power. The information he’s provided on the vortex, its movement, and implosion energy further supports this idea.
What if you don’t believe any of this stuff?
Well then test it for yourself.
Allow your intuition to determine which water is better for you with a taste test.
Grab some glass bottled spring water and drink it compared to a glass of conventional water stored in a plastic bottle. Notice how the spring water is more hydrating with LESS fluid consumption. Notice how it’s superior in taste. Notice how energetic you become. I assure you, this will happen.
When you should consume more spring water
By default, you should consume more when:
It’s hot/hotter than usual
You’re sweating a lot (training & sauna use)
The nice thing about consuming spring water, as I mentioned earlier, is that you’ll need less of it to achieve better hydration results.
For extra support, I would add Concentrace Trace Minerals to the mix and some unrefined sea salt like a Redmond’s Real Salt.
How to tell you’re not consuming enough spring water
There are clear signs of dehydration which many people experience since, as a society, we are dehydrated and starving for this precious resource.
They are as follows:
Dry mouth
Sleepiness
Feeling thirsty
Decreased urination
Muscle weakness
Fatigue
Headache
Dizziness
Nausea
Diarrhea
Here’s a rule of thumb I learned about: When you’re thirsty or experiencing any of these symptoms, you’re in a serious state of dehydration. You likely won’t die from it, but you can very easily if you’re an athlete or live in a humid climate.
By now, you should understand that spring water is superior and you only need, at minimum, half your body weight in ounces daily (unless you sweat a lot which would require more).
I hope you found this valuable.
