I’m always going to push the lifestyle fundamentals based on circadian biology for restorative sleep, yet there’s value in choosing the right supplements that actually work to improve various sleep metrics.
Tart cherry juice is one of them.
These are not the same as the sweet cherries you snack on in the summer months.
Tart cherries are smaller and a bright red color.
They create drool inducing sleep because they’re one of the few foods that has naturally occurring melatonin which is the day & night hormone that plays a major role in regulating our circadian rhythm and sleep/wake cycle.
TCJ also contains magnesium which further enhances the quality of your rest.
How powerful of an effect does this have, you ask?
Consuming TCJ concentrate for 7 days resulted in:
Significantly elevated melatonin levels
Increased time in bed
Increased total sleep time
Increased sleep efficiency (Deep & REM)
It’s also been shown to lower chronic inflammation.
With just 12 weeks of consumption in older adults, we see the following:
A 25% reduction in the inflammation biomarker hs-CRP
An 11% reduction in oxidized LDL (one of the main drivers of heart disease)
This is a BIG deal because we usually don’t see reductions of that magnitude.
Tart cherry juice also contributes to a healthy cardiovascular system because of its ability to regulate nitric oxide in the body.
Any nutrient dense food that has a deep red color to it likely has a powerful effect on not only your cardiovascular system, but blood as well. There’s a reason why pomegranate juice, beet juice and tart cherry juice look like blood.
TCJ appears to be effective in in the prevention, treatment and recovery of soft tissue injury and pain. This is a game changer for athletes who are looking for that performance edge.
If you’re taking blood thinners, speak to your doctor before using tart cherry juice therapeutically because the quercetin content may interact with these types of medications. If you experience adverse reactions to cherry juice, such as digestive problems, discontinue use.
As of the past few days, I’ve been rocking with about two tablespoons of TCJ (totaling 31.5 grams per serving). I take it about 30-60 minutes before bed and have noticed a substantial increase in REM and vivid dreams.
This is just one of the countless tools you have available to improve your health, but it’s overwhelming trying to figure out what works from what doesn’t.
I’ll show you exactly what to do, step by step, over the course of 8 weeks to get your body in shape, lifestyle dialed in and mind prepared for whatever life has to throw at you.
The results, testimonials and content speaks for itself.
Much love,
Zaid
