Fritz Hollwich (July 13, 1909 – September 4, 1991) was a distinguished German ophthalmologist, internist, and professor renowned for his extensive contributions to ophthalmology and pioneering research on the biological effects of light.

Hollwich completed his medical studies in Munich, receiving his medical license in 1936. He began his specialization in ophthalmology under Karl Wessely between 1935 and 1939, subsequently serving as the senior physician at the Municipal Eye Clinic in Stuttgart in 1939.

After World War II, he expanded his expertise to internal medicine from 1947 to 1951 under von Bergmann in Munich and earned his habilitation in 1948. His career included senior positions at university eye clinics in Würzburg (1952–1953) and Frankfurt (1954–1958), where he was appointed professor. In 1958, Hollwich became a full professor in Jena and later led the University Eye Clinic in Münster from 1964 until his retirement in 1977.
