The Shocking Effectiveness of Grounding
Who knew such a simple practice could dramatically improve health
After doing some research on grounding and then stumbling upon ‘The Earthing Movie,’ I’m convinced it’s the most overlooked subject in the health space.
Why is that?
Because it’s so damn simple that people have a hard time believing it can move the needle drastically towards great health.
There are two reasons why this practice is incredible:
It’s free: You don’t have to spend a single cent on this. Simply go outside and find a natural conductive surface such as wet sand, grass and dirt.
It’s simple: All you have to do is take your shoes off and spend a good amount of time connected to the Earth. The more you can do it, the better it is for your health. It doesn’t get any better than that.
Zero cost. Little time and energy investment. It’s a powerful combination.
Grounding: Defined
Grounding (or Earthing) is simple, yet overlooked.
It’s walking barefoot outside with the soles of your feet connected directly with the surface of the earth. It’s something we’ve done for ages as a species.
Shoes have only been around for a short period. I’m not demonizing shoes with this message since I appreciate their value and always love a good pair of Converse.
Yet, it’s important to understand that our disconnection from the Earth poses a major issue, both from a psychological/spiritual perspective and a physiological health one.
Your body is naturally able to absorb electrical charges from the earth, but here’s the issue: People always wear shoes. They’re chronically disconnected and that has a negative impact on health.
As you’ll see below, there is ample scientific evidence to support the efficacy of placing your bare feet onto the Earth’s natural surface.
Negative Electrons & Energy Production
The Earth is a potent source of negative electrons we can plug into for better health.
Your body evolved to connect with the Earth’s natural surface. It’s useful to think of your body as a “battery” in this sense, even though our energetic system is much more complex than that.
To put this into perspective, your mitochondria have something called an ELECTRON transport chain which is a series of four protein complexes that couple redox reactions, creating an electrochemical gradient that leads to the creation of ATP in a complete system named oxidative phosphorylation. It occurs in mitochondria in both cellular respiration and photosynthesis.
Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is what our bodies use for energy.
Right there, we have a strong piece of evidence showing that grounding directly allows our mitochondria to produce more energy and improve general mitochondrial function which has second and third order benefits for health.
We must counter the artificial frequencies modernity has created and imposed upon us through daily living whether it comes from cell phone use, LTE, telephone cables, so forth.
Grounding is the perfect way to do that.
Here’s some more fascinating information:
Neutralizing Chronic Inflammation & Free Radicals
Below, I’ll include some photos in regards to infrared imaging with and without grounding in addition to its impact on accelerated wound healing.
Science is now catching up to another timeless principle - this time it’s placing your bare feet onto the Earth’s surface.
Below, we have some more examples. More specifically, it’s impact on pain, blood pressure, white blood cells, so forth.
The Human Body is Electrical First, Chemical Second
“The human body is electrical first and chemical second,” according to earthing expert Clint Ober. The brain, heartbeat and neurotransmitter activity rely on electrical signals.
If we can maximize our connection to the Earth, we can take advantage of the immense power potential to improve our health.
This is incredible stuff.
I hope you grasp the significance of this.
How To Ground Correctly
Yes, there’s a right and wrong way to ground, mainly in regards to the type of surface you place your bare feet onto.
Search for conductive surfaces:
Soil
Grass
Sand
Gravel that’s touching the earth
Rock that’s touching the earth
Unsealed concrete or concrete with a water-based sealant that is touching the earth or a conductive surface (same with brick)
Bodies of water (ocean, lake, streams)
Living trees in the earth when you can make contact with the sap or the bark is moist/wet
Avoid non-conductive surfaces:
Asphalt
Vinyl
Plastic
Tar/tarmac
Cut wood
Painted/chemically-sealed concrete
In general, it’s better to walk barefoot anyways to ensure proper movement patterns and mechanics. It’s an excellent habit to develop that will improve all areas of your life.
Once you develop this capacity, you’ll have:
Stronger feet
Better movement
Less risk of injury
Improved mental health
Better agility
Great posture
You’ll be a totally different person.
Word of caution: Start slow if you never walk barefoot. If you’re a novice, go to the beach or grass to do it. That’s perfect because it’s low impact. From there, you can slowly progress over time.
This is just the tip of the iceberg for what I offer in The 80/20 Health System where you’ll experience more energy, incredible sleep and learn about the timeless principles you’ll use for LIFE.

Fascinating! Thanks for sharing the research on it too!
