12 Timeless Detoxification Principles
Why this should be the priority to focus on with your health
Detoxification should be your primary focus to care for your health.
That’s a controversial statement, but I stand behind it considering how toxic our world has become. We must protect ourselves through fundamental principles to allow our detoxification systems to work at peak capacity.
If detoxification isn’t something you care about, you’re likely going to rapidly gain body and feel your vitality go down the drain as time goes on
Below, we’ll talk about the 12 timeless principles I use.
But First.. Let’s Talk About This
A day doesn’t go by where I see marketing schemes centered around some exotic green juice fruit or liver detox.
This is the everyday battle the average person has to go through - being bombarded by commercials and recommendations from friends who don’t know what they’re talking about in regards to health about detoxification.
Hardly anybody articulates what they mean by ‘detoxification’ because the majority of people do not know what the fuck they’re talking about.
It’s the work of health dilettantes.
That’s exactly why I wrote this article.
It’s important to understand that detoxification is a natural byproduct of the proper lifestyle, not some esoteric practice you have to travel to India for.
Rid yourself of any belief that makes detoxification a complicated matter.
In its nature, it is simple.
So simple that people ignore the key principles within this pillar of health because they’re ignorant and don’t think it matters that much compared to other areas like nutrition or exercise.
The beauty of what I’m about to share with you resides in its simplicity.
Let’s get into the most effective (and timeless) detoxification strategies.
Timeless Detox Principle #1: SPRING WATER
The solution to pollution is dilution.
Spring water is the cleanest and most evolutionarily consistent liquid for human beings because we’ve always needed to stay hydrated to survive.
It’s ability to detoxify the body is incredible because it removes waste products and keep things flowing throughout your system.
We don’t have many studies on the specific detoxification capability of spring water, but that’s to be expected because reductionist scientific philosophy doesn’t care to study these things. They don’t even have the wisdom to differentiate between spring water and municipal tap water.
Your body relies on spring water for every single physiological and psychological process and reaction, from regulating body temperature to improving digestion.
It would be foolish for anybody to doubt that spring water has a key role to play in detoxification since water is fundamental to all life on Earth.
Timeless Detox Principle #2: SWEAT
Sweating through both exercise and the use of normal/infrared saunas/sweat lodges is a fundamental form of detoxification.
Just as you can absorb toxins through the skin, you can also release them through it.
There’s interesting research to show that a number of toxic compounds are released through a session involving a good amount of sweat. This includes:
Arsenic
Mercury
Lead
BPA
Routine exercise on its own is one of the most powerful longevity principles and general ways to maintain great health, but this adds the cherry on top.
Timeless Detox Principle #3: MOVEMENT
Your detoxification systems rely on movement for fluid exchange.
By training hard and routinely movement at a slower pace throughout the day, you allow the following systems to work at full capacity:
The lymphatic system
The integumentary system
The excretory system
Keeping your body moving is what allows you to flush out toxins through these designated detoxification systems.
Make sure to hit your daily minimum of 10,000 steps. Going for brisk walks is the easiest way to tap into this detox potential.
Timeless Detox Principle #4: SLEEP
Your brain has a waste management structure known as the glymphatic system.
These tubes carry fresh fluid into the brain, mix it with waste-filled fluid, and flush it out into the blood so it gets dealt with from there.
We’ve only just recently discovered the existence of the glymphatic system, yet it points directly towards an important detoxification process that many neglect because they’re not getting enough sleep and fail to take circadian biology seriously.
Guess how you can tap into this system?
Primarily through DEEP SLEEP.
If you’re not asleep in between the hours of 10 PM and 2 AM, then you’re likely not getting the necessary amount of deep sleep you need to drain the glymphatic system and physically recover.
Timeless Detox Principle #5: BREATHING CLEAN OXYGEN
Nasal breathing alone aids your detoxification systems.
Breathing correctly brings in oxygen for physiological processes and removes carbon dioxide waste which aids in toxin elimination.
Acquiring oxygen through the breathe is so fundamental that without it for just a few minutes, we die. There should be no surprise that it helps rid of us unnecessary toxins and reduces toxin overload.
Timeless Detox Principle #6: REBOUNDING
Rebounding refers to jumping on a mini trampoline for a dedicated period.
This up and down motion stimulates the lymphatic system (which I mentioned earlier) that’s responsible for being one of the main ways we detoxify.
With increased lymphatic flow comes better elimination of waste and toxins.
Timeless Detox Principle #7: PROPER POOPS
Believe it or not, taking a crap is a form of detoxification.
Your digestive system breaks down food, absorbs nutrients and eliminates waste the body no longer needs multiple times per day for good reason.
Proper bowel movements are key because chronic constipation is a silent killer that leads directly to chronic disease and metabolic dysfunction through a process known as enterohepatic recirculation.

Timeless Detox Principle #8: SUNLIGHT
By far one of the more favorite topics of mine, sunlight actually plays a key role in detoxifying your system.
Just 20 minutes of direct sunlight through sunbathing has been shown to produce over 200 antimicrobials which kill off bad bacteria, funguses, viruses and parasites throughout the body. We already know about the immune system boosting effects of Vitamin D3.
Yet another W for sunlight exposure and another reason for you to go out more often and dedicate yourself to sunbathing to build that solar callous.
Timeless Detox Principle #9: GROUNDING
Grounding detoxifies your body from non-native electromagnetic frequencies that wreak havoc on your mitochondria and ability to produce energy.
These non-native EMFs operate on alternating current (AC) rather than the direct current (DC) which the Earth naturally emits.
Grounding also destroys chronic inflammation and improves sleep which both further facilitate improved detoxification.
Touch grass or sand now.

Timeless Detox Principle #10: KEEP BODY FAT AT BAY
All of these strategies and a holistic lifestyle improve your body composition, yet there’s something to be said for making sure you do not gain much subcutaneous and visceral fat.
Fat is where toxins are stored to protect your internal organs.
If you seem to have most things dialed in, yet are still somehow gaining body fat, that’s a clear sign you need to focus on detoxification even more because your body is burdened by toxin overload and is shuttling those toxins into fat.
Timeless Detox Principle #11: ACTIVATED CHARCOAL
The ultimate and only worthy detoxification and longevity extending supplement is activated charcoal. I’ve written extensively on its powerful ability to shuttle toxins from the body through adsorption.
Timeless Detox Principle #12: FILTER MUNICIPAL TAP WATER
This applies to both the water you drink, use in any sink or shower with.
Your skin is absorbing the nastiest of chemicals like trihalomethanes through heated chlorinated tap water every single day. Fix this altogether with a high quality shower filter.
In regards to filtering your sink water, get a reverse osmosis system to clean everything out of it.
For drinking water, you can use reverse osmosis, but make sure to remineralize and structure the water through various methods I’ve mentioned in the past.
